In Argentina, soybean yields are now declining to an average of 2.23 tonnes / hectare as the crop now advances into regions affected by heat and drought. This is reported by the Buenos Aires grain exchange in its report yesterday.
Accordingly, 89.3% of this year's harvest is now brought there. The stock exchange leaves its harvest estimate for 2017/18 unchanged compared to the previous week at 36 million tonnes. Of these, 33.5 million tonnes are now imported.
The harvest on an estimated 16.8 million hectares, which were ordered with soybeans, was hampered this month in the core region of the cultivation of heavy rains.
The first crop estimates were still at 55 million tonnes before the four-month drought, with all analysts recently agreed that now less than 40 million tonnes come together.
Argentina is the world's largest exporter of soybean meal and soybean oil.
