ASF in China - Sichuan bans all pig imports

Sichuan Province has banned all imports of live pigs and pork products from other parts of the country to prevent the spread of African swine fever (ASF). This was announced today by the provincial government on its website.
The order is valid since yesterday and was imposed because several neighboring provinces had reported the outbreak of highly infectious swine fever.
Sichuan, located in southwestern China, is China's top pork producer.
