Market participants rate the situation on the German slaughter pig market as largely balanced after the small increase last week. The existing quantities can therefore be sold promptly and without any problems. However, some slaughterhouses continue to pay house prices. The association of producer groups left their recommended price for pigs ready for slaughter in Germany unchanged for the coming week at € 1.23.
The demand for pork has developed slightly positively. Fillets and salmon in particular are more in demand than in the past few weeks. However, dealers still only order the quantities that can be sold with certainty. In addition, higher prices can hardly be enforced. Slaughterings are now in full swing across Europe. Demand is good, even if the corona pandemic is unsettling market participants
