Association price for slaughter pigs: 1.27 € / kg SG (+/- 0 ct)

The German slaughter pork price remains unchanged this week despite the ongoing import bans (China, South Korea, Japan). Before the first African swine fever was found in a wild boar on September 10th in Brandenburg, the price was 1.47 € / kg and then fell to 1.27 € on September 11th. There are now 50 confirmed cases (exclusively wild boars). The corona-related restricted slaughtering, which is now leading to a huge supply backlog, is still of great concern. Producers report increasing slaughter weights of over 100kg in some cases. The pork market in Germany is fairly stable, but has lost some of its momentum in the last few days. Because of the cooler temperatures, the focus is now on heartier cuts.
