BOGK: at least 25% less potatoes in Europe

The Federal Association of the Fruit, Vegetable and Potato Processing Industry (BOGK) expects a considerably smaller potato harvest in Germany and Europe in poor quality.
In a press release today, the association expects at least 25% less revenue. It will be missing the necessary oversize for the french fries production.
As the weather does not change significantly in the coming days, the association said, the problems increase from week to week.
The potato plants suffer from drought and heat, they have stopped growing. A scarcity of raw materials as well as quality problems are inevitable.
