High corn prices in Brazil could lead according to an official from the Ministry of agriculture to an expansion of the maize seed for the season 2016/17 in the main production areas of Mato Grosso. As a result of better access to the port facilities of newly-built road, and a more favourable access to the export market, local farmers promise positive effects for the soybeans, its acreage in the region could also be extended.
