Brazil: Lineup twice as long as a year ago

The lineup of the cargo ships before the Brazilian ports that want to load soybeans in February, is twice as long as a year at the same time before. The soybean harvest is started early in the South American country and there is a strong global demand for oilseeds.
The port plans suggest that Brazil is shipping 4.39 million tons of soybeans by early March. 97% are more than in the previous year. Brazil is the largest exporter of soybeans in the world and the economy there depends in large measure of corn and soybean exports. The Organization of shipments is so far without significant errors.
If the corn exports begin, might face but to a competition to the docks. Provisional customs data show that 51% more soybeans than in January 2016 was already shipped in January.
So far, four percent of the acreage were harvested, so it is slightly faster than in the previous year. The latest estimates of the industry association ABIOVE goes from a soybean crop of 101.7 million tons of which 58 million tons in exports should go. Despite a larger export amount as in the previous year, observers expect no logistical problems are gone along the coast further loading capacities at the start.
