Brazil's second corn crop (Safrinha) will probably only cover 57 million tonnes, as it is currently dry. This is reported today by the consulting firm Agroconsult. The previous estimate will thus be reduced by more than three million tonnes.
The company is currently conducting a field tour in Brazil's major growing regions. Two weeks ago, their estimate for the second corn harvest was 60.2 million tonnes. Should the new estimate prove correct, the corn harvest Brazil will be 10 million tonnes lower than in the previous year.
