Favored by the best weather conditions, the 2017/18 Brazilian soybean crop, which is now starting, will be larger than 110 million tonnes. That would be the second largest harvest ever. This forecast is the result of a Reuters poll among 11 market analysts released today.
According to this, farmers in Brazil will import 110.19 million tons of oilseed. In the previous year, the harvest was 114 million tons. The November estimate for the upcoming harvest was 109.43 million tonnes.
The acreage is reported as 34.9 million hectares, which is also a historic record. All respondents raised or maintained their previous estimates. Brazil is currently the world's largest exporter of soybeans.
The sowing of the beans began in September, since it was too dry regionally at the beginning of the growing season, the field order in the length, which should also equalize the harvesting work. The weather forecasts for the harvest season are very good almost everywhere. In the states of Mato Grosso, Goiás, Paraná and the border with Manitoba, up to 100 liters of rain is expected by 19 January. In Rio Grande do Sul only 34 liters per square meterbe.
