British rape cultivation falls to 13-year low

The UK agricultural and horticultural authority AHDB has asked in a survey among farmers about land use. Then the rape cultivation in the UK will fall to a 13-year low and the production of wheat will decrease slightly.
The cultivation of rape on the British island is limited to 557.000 hectares - 4% compared to the previous season, because there are problems in the fight against the Erdfloh of rape in the East of England. There is the rape cultivation by 28%; on top of that it was too dry for the sowing. Therefore, it is dodged there on winter wheat or will grow more summer barley.
However, the rape cultivation in the West Midlands, in the South of England and in Scotland was extended slightly. The British winter wheat acreage will be extended to 1% according to the survey on 1.8 million acres. Winter barley was grown on 397.000 hectares (- 9%); However, spring barley should be sown on 799.000 hectares (+ 17%).
