Bulgaria's 2018 wheat harvest 7% below last year's record

Heavy rainfall events in July damaged the wheat fields in Bulgaria and reduced the harvest to 5.5 million. Tons limited. At 4.9 tonnes / hectare, average yields are 7% below those of the previous year, according to the Ministry of Agriculture in Sofia.

The Bulgarian farmers have now harvested 497,300 tonnes of barley from 97% of the acreage. It is expected to be between 500,000 and 510,000 tonnes, less than in 2017 when 586,000 tonnes came together.
Bulgaria is a cereal net exporter with exports of 4.6 million tonnes of grain since July 2017.
