Canada could increase wheat acreage by about 6% next year as the high prices incentivize farmers to do so, an Agriculture Department official said today.
Preliminary projections also show that durum wheat acreage could increase by around 10%, said Tony McDougall, deputy director of the grain and oilseeds division of Canada's Department of Agriculture, at the Global Grain conference in Geneva.
