The Canadian statistics agency Statscan has released the first acreage estimate for the 2018 harvest this afternoon.
Wheat is grown on an area of 25.3 million acres (+ 12.8% yoy). The acreage for canola is estimated at 21.4 million acres (-7.0%). In addition, Canadians are expecting an increase in arable land to 3.8 million acres (+ 5.1%) and a reduction in soybean land to 6.5 million acres (-11.4%). The complete figures can be found here!
