Canada: wheat production has increased by 15%

Canada's farmers have harvested 31,73 million tons of wheat (all varieties) this year. This reports the Statistics Agency Statistics Canada. To the previous year, that is an increase of 15%. Market participants expected a rise in wheat production, but in the middle with a production volume of 30.7 million tons. Durum production increased by 44% to 7.76 million tons versus 5.39 million tons in 2015. Also the production of canola rose by 6.8% to 8.78 million tons versus 8.23 million tons by 2015.
