Canada: wheat stocks by the end of 2016 significantly higher than in the previous year

Statistics Canada has released today the results of the survey of Canadian grain stocks by 31 December 2016. It emerges that whole wheat stocks as compared to the previous year to 16.8% have risen to 25 million tons (2015: 21,431 million tons). Wheat (excluding durum) stocks rose by 5.4% to 18,13 million tonnes versus 17.2 million tonnes in December 2015. The increase with 63.1% is particularly high for the durum stocks.
