Chicago soybean futures expanded their gains on Monday, rising for the fifth straight year as dry South American weather is expected to affect production.
De course had already reached a three-month high on Friday.
The Buenos Aires Grain Exchange announced last week that Argentina's central farm belt would be set to very high temperatures in the coming days, followed by moderate to heavy rains.
It did so after a recent warning about the impact of likely dry weather on soybean and corn production, with less-than-normal rainfall due to the La Niña climate pattern expected in the region's summer.
