CBoT wheat prices are falling on the second day of trading this morning as weather forecasts for the US winter wheat growing regions improve and cash prices are under pressure.
The futures market is once again dominated by a weather market and stock market prices are under pressure because more rain is predicted in some previously too dry regions. Stock market experts in India say this morning that there is now no turnaround. The rainfalls of the last few days would probably have prevented that there is no major loss of income in hard-red winter wheat in the southern US plains.
Scouts, currently on a tour of the US wheat regions, report that the tiniest wheat harvest in the state of Kansas since 1989 has come together.
However, the prospect of another record harvest in the Black Sea region continues to weigh on the futures markets.
