CBoT Wheat: Stock market prices react to weather forecasts and crop ratings

Because of adverse weather conditions in the US wheat-growing regions, traders fear loss of yield. That made the CBoT wheat futures start firmer again tonight.
Analysts said the prospect of more adverse weather was behind the price gains.
"Weather services are not yet expecting worrying cold temperatures for endangered winter wheat crops in the US and the eastern Black Sea," said Tobin Gorey, director of agricultural strategy at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia.
The USDA assessed US winter wheat stocks less yesterday than the week before.
The experts rated 43% of the field inventory as good to excellent, compared with 46% the week before, and contradicted analysts' expectations for a point improvement.
