The wheat-May contract on the Matif fell yesterday to its lowest level since September 2019. The European export prospects for wheat are still good, FranceAgriMer has raised its forecast for French exports by another 0.1 million tons. The WHO's declaration of the coronavirus on the pandemic sends the wheat courses on the Matif and the CBoT further into the basement. The entry ban for Europeans in the USA puts an additional burden on the global financial and agricultural markets. The courses for maize on the Matif are weaker on the front dates with very little sales. The pre-exchange corn prices at eCBoT are weaker today. Oilseed rape continues to lose and is reported at EUR 367.75 / t for the May contract. The same date on the ICE in Winnipeg is also weaker and closes at -C $ 460.10 (= 295.49 Euro / t).Soy initially started trading positively, but is losing due to the weakness in the crude oil market.
