Chaos in China's ASF-coping

Many experts believe that the number of ASF outbreaks (ASF = African pig) in China is much higher than officially reported. This is in the nature of the fragmented agricultural sector.
An indication of this is the messages that do not occur in the actual chronological order. One must also assume that there were long before the first officially reported outbreak ASF cases, believes an analyst of Rabobank.
While Beijing does everything it can to stem the plague, control of pig transport bans is inadequate. Constantly changing regulations are not always observed.
Large price differences in the various regions also encourage market participants to deliver cheap pigs from the north to the populous southern China, where prices are much higher.
