China: 5-year plan includes increase of soybean acreage

The Chinese Government has worked out a 5-year plan to modernize the agricultural sector. These reports of the State Council.
After that the acreage for soybeans is expected to increase mu (9.33 million hectares) up to 140 million by 2020 versus 98 million mu (6.53 million hectares) in 2015.
Maize, China plans to reduce the area by 0.7% on 500 million mu (33.33 million hectares) annually up to the year 2020.
The total cereal production is expected to increase up to 550 million tonnes by 2020 versus 500 million tonnes in 2015.
Planned are also an increase of in meat and milk production. (1 hectare = 15 mu)
