In China, another 14,577 pigs were culled

To date, 14,577 pigs have been culled in the Chinese city of Lianyungang to prevent the spread of African swine fever (ASF). Last weekend, the third case was confirmed by ASF.
The local authorities have disinfected and sterilized all roads and farms in the affected areas, according to various official communications. In addition, all pig farmers, slaughterhouses and trading centers of the regions were inspected. No other cases of ASF were found.
In Liaoning Province, where the first ASF case was detected at the beginning of August, so far 8,000 pigs have been culled. In a slaughterhouse of the WH group 1,362 pigs were also culled last week.
