In the first three months of 2020, China bought $ 5.05 billion in agricultural commodities in the United States. That was 110% more than in Q1 / 19.
In the first part of a January 15 trade agreement, China pledged to buy $ 32 billion of US agricultural goods over the next two years. US pork shipments in Q1 / 20 were 168,000 tonnes, 640% more than a year ago. The value of the goods was even 17 times higher than in the comparable period in 2019.
US cotton imports to China in Q1 / 20 were 124,000 tonnes (+ 43.5%).
