China invests in Brazil's infrastructure

China has spent a lot of money in the infrastructure of Brazil in recent years. In 2017 alone it was $ 24.7 billion. This financed primarily port projects for exports. A new port is currently being planned in Santa Catarina in southern Brazil, from where soybeans and beef will be exported.
But Brazil also lacks roads, railways and waterways inland. The few major traffic routes are a bottleneck that poses a risk to the supply of the entire country and export markets. In May 2018, striking supplies shunted supplies to the whole country.
Since China has entered into a trade dispute with the US, Brazil offers itself as an alternative to the export of agricultural goods. So far, China was still under strong influence of the US economy. That could change now.
Incidentally, Chinese investment in South America would pay off better.
