China raising import tariffs for DDGS from the United States

China today released its measures against imports of DDGS (Distiller dried grains and solubles) from the United States. One is imports from now on and for the next five years with punitive tariffs, and in addition of anti-dumping duties of up to 55%.
That's more than expected by market participants in advance. In September, you were imposed both duties taken together 44%. Since then, exports from the United States have declined dramatically. Only 62,000 tons were delivered to China since then, compared to 262,000 tons in August 2016. It had been even 371,000 tons in June.
China imported 2.31 million tons of DDGS in the period from January to November 2016. In the Vermarktungssaison before it was 6.07 million tonnes. The United States in 2016, about 22% of their DDGS production export to China and China's imports of this product so far amounted to 50% of the total, have been introduced.
In these weeks a trade war between the United States and China coming to a head.
