China: sow population grows for the fourth time in a row

China's sow population increased by 1.2% in January compared to December, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs said Thursday. It was the fourth consecutive herd increase.
The ministry did not provide a total figure for the size of the herd, which had shrunk by almost 40% in September following an epidemic of African swine fever.
