Negotiations are currently underway between the producers of processing raw materials and the chips factories. Concrete results have not yet been announced. Buyers are interested in an early start to the season from week 29 in 2022, which may be an indication that this year's harvest could be used up early. In addition, the factories want greater flexibility in the contracts, for example in the choice of the proportion of contractually bound free quantities. These are so-called "co-delivery potatoes" from the hands of contract suppliers, which are usually settled with the quotations or the EEX potato index. The producer groups point to the higher production costs and the competition between potatoes and other crops such as wheat and rapeseed. The price of the EEX April 22 futures contract is again striving towards € 20.
