The 2020 common wheat harvest in the European Union will decrease from 145.7 million tons in 2019 to 137.9 million tons, the European Grain Trade Association Coceral has just announced.
It is the association's first forecast for this year's grain harvest. In the countries of France, Germany, Denmark and Great Britain, due to heavy rains last autumn, it was far from possible to order all of the planned areas with winter cereals.
Coceral has also given another crop estimate for the EU-27 as Britain left the Community on 01/31. For 2020 this amounts to 125.5 million tons of common wheat compared to 129.7 million tons in the previous year.
