Concerned about China's sorghum demand

China's demand will weaken after Australian sorghum in this season. The grain trader Graincorp Ltd. has worried that China imposed an import duty on sorghum, to limit the rising imports of animal feed. Then, the sorghum could decrease imports in 2015/16 by 30%; also because China will probably lower its intervention prices for corn.
Manufacturers of compound feedingstuffs have used corn this grain in China, the world's largest importer of sorghum, as substitute, rather than domestic, because the maize intervention has kept the prices artificially high.
On the East coast of Australia, sorghum is grown exclusively for the market leader GrainCorp, thus replaced the lower wheat production and the resulting decline in exports. It is expected that China in 2015 / 16 483.000 tons of sorghum from imports Australia, so the Australian Government. There were 464.000 tons in the previous year. In the past three years, China has increased its sorghum consumption of 3,2 million to 11.1 million tonnes.
