The US Department of Agriculture reported yesterday after close of trading in Chicago that 46% of US winter wheat stocks are in good or excellent shape for the 2022 harvest (previous week: 45%). The evaluation took place on November 14th. It is the third report for the 2022 harvest. The two reports before were each weaker. Analysts reckoned with a share of 45%. Last year, at the same time, 46% of the stocks were in top condition.
Winter wheat sowing has been completed on 94% of the planned areas (previous week: 91%), analysts are expecting sowing progress of 95%. In the past year, the sowing progress at the same point in time was 96%, the 5-year average is 94%
