Corn contracts continued their downward trend yesterday, Monday. The March date on the Euronext/Matif lost EUR 2.75, the subsequent dates closed with higher losses. The corn contracts were based both on the specifications for wheat and those from overseas. Here the export shipments could not change the market. With 524,313 tons, significantly more corn was loaded than in the previous week, but the minus compared to the same week last year is 33 percent. Prices were dampened by the drought in Argentina and a slightly weaker US dollar. EU imports until 29.11. are 12.12 million tons. With a share of 6.06 million tons, half of this comes from Brazil, while the Ukraine was able to contribute 5.2 million tons to EU imports. Pre-market, the eCBoT shows slightly firmer corn prices today.
