The corn contracts on the Euronext/Matif closed yesterday with losses. The front month of March 2023 ended trading at a closing price of EUR 291 per tonne (- EUR 1 compared to Wednesday). In Europe and Germany, there was little news regarding corn price developments yesterday, as was the case recently. Overall, the better supply situation due to the extension of the grain deal for Ukraine is putting pressure on prices. Despite the daily gains on Wednesday, the downward trend in corn prices is still intact. On the other hand, the corn futures on the CBoT were able to increase again. US export bookings released yesterday were in line with expectations and were around 14 percent higher than in the previous week. The US Department of Agriculture's WASDE, released tonight, is expected to see a slight increase in production and global ending inventories. With the start of pre-market trading today, there are slightly green signs on the eCBoT.
