For the second day in a row, corn contracts in Paris and Chicago are also up. The front month of November on the Matif increased yesterday by EUR 1.75 to EUR 312.50/t. Growth will be limited by continued brisk exports from the Ukraine. More than 25 ships recently left Ukraine for Africa as part of a UN program, most of which were loaded with corn. Drought persists country after country. Plants often lack water. The recent rains have eased things up a bit. The US export figures in particular helped the price development on the CBoT. Although the loaded quantities are below the export figures of the previous year, around 200,000 tons more could be loaded compared to the previous week. The record drought in China seems to be sparing the corn-growing regions. Premarket corn prices on the eCBoT are up a little over 2%.
