In Ukraine so far 74.3 million tons of grain have been harvested on 91% of the land, reports the Ministry of Agriculture. The average yield is 5.08 tons per hectare. The amount includes 32.3 million tons of wheat, 9.6 million tons of barley, 28.1 million tons of maize and a smaller amount of other types of grain.
Excellent weather conditions could result in a record grain harvest of 80.3 million tons this year. Last year Ukraine harvested 65 million tons of grain.
This could increase exports in the current marketing year 2021/22 (July to June) to 61.5 million tons. This would include 24.5 million tons of wheat, 30.9 million tons of corn and 5.2 million tons of barley. In the 2020/21 marketing period, 44.7 million tons of grain were exported. This included 23.1 million tons of corn, 16.6 million tons of wheat and 4.2 million tons of barley.
