Yesterday, corn contracts on Euronext/Matif went south again. At the end of the trading day, the front month of November was down by EUR 6.75 per tonne. The CBoT also went south, but the price losses here were less. The US corn crop is now 45 percent harvested, making better progress than the average for the past five years. The USDA lowered its assessments of the states by one percentage point. 53 percent are now rated very good or good. The European Union has meanwhile imported 8.39 million tons of corn this marketing year. That's more than double what it was last year at this point. With the end of the harvest, the cash markets in Germany showed that the greatest pressure was removed from the market. However, there is good demand for feed maize, especially along the Dutch borders.
