Maize prices rose again yesterday. In Paris, the front month gained EUR 1.25 per ton and closed the trading day at EUR 359.50. Traders in Europe are currently reporting a drop in demand for corn, which can partly be explained by bird flu and the beginning of the grazing season. When it comes to imports, the cheapest offers are currently coming from Canada and South America. Prices also climbed at the CBoT. The fundamental support of the corn market is and remains the sluggish sowing in the corn belt. For the WASDE on Thursday, many dealers therefore expect a production cut - not only in the USA.
