The corn production of the 2017/18 harvest in Zambia in southern Africa is now estimated at only 2.39 million tonnes. This is the result of a government poll in Lusaka.
The year before, it was 3.61 million tons.
It was far too dry and reports of a plague of owl butterflies and corn borers have decimated yields, commented the ministry.
