Corn: Traders are waiting for WASDE

Corn also fell in the slipstream of wheat development yesterday. In the end, the most traded November contract was down EUR 1.25/t with a settlement of EUR 221.25/t. Yesterday, Europe's corn trade was unable to benefit from positive signals from America. The overall better weather situation in Europe is also reflected, although the stocks in East Germany, Lower Saxony and North Rhine-Westphalia have benefited from the recent very heavy rainfall. In the south of the republic it is still too dry. On the CBoT, however, corn contracts rose. Many participants are positioning themselves for tomorrow's WASDE. In addition, the USDA raised the status grades in the categories good to very good by one percentage point in its weekly inventory report yesterday; the majority expected an improvement of two points. Pre-market, corn is also up on the CBoT today and the contracts on the Matif also got off to a good start today.
