The prices for corn on the Euronext/Matif rose again slightly yesterday. The front month of March 23 rose by 1 euro to 291 euros per tonne. The follow-up contracts also increased, only the August date has a red sign. The news about the harvest estimate of 23 million tons of corn in the Ukraine, which was discussed yesterday, also had an impact yesterday and gave the price development corresponding support. On the spot markets, corn is traded calmly. Feed mills are mostly well supplied, supply and demand are only at a low level. On the CBoT, corn prices fell slightly yesterday. The published weekly export sales largely disappointed market participants. At 638,000 tons, expectations at the lower end were met. For the year as a whole, US exporters sold about 3.15 tons less corn. With the start of the pre-market trading this Friday, however, friendlier tendencies are showing again.
