COT report (Commitments of Traders)

Institutional investors reduced the SRW wheat net long position from the previous week (20,567 contracts) to 11,603 net long positions in the week to 10.12.19. The investor group of "institutional investors", which includes banks, insurance companies, fund companies, etc., is still moderately bullish on wheat. This is evident from the COT report of the US Department of Agriculture, which was published yesterday evening after the close of trading in Chicago.
Net short positions in corn increased by 29,664 contracts to 114,801 net short positions.
In addition, "institutional investors" increased the net short position in soybeans by 13,509 contracts to 112,528 net short positions.
As the report is always published by the CFTC (Commodity Futures Trading Commission) with a delay of almost a week, all changes after December 10 are not included in this update. For this reason, we publish daily estimates of changes in the positions of "institutional investors" in our news ticker. However, options are not included in the daily estimates!
