COT report (Commitments of Traders)

Institutional investors increased the SRW wheat net long position from the previous week (11,603 contracts) to 24,742 net long positions in the week to 17.12.19. The investor group of "institutional investors", which includes banks, insurance companies, fund companies, etc., remains bullish on wheat. This is evident from the COT report of the US Department of Agriculture, which was published on Friday after the close of trading in Chicago.
Net short positions in corn were reduced by 19,964 contracts to 94,837 net short positions.
In addition, "institutional investors" reduced the net short position in soybeans by 33,353 contracts to 79,275 net short positions.
As the report is always published with a delay of almost a week by the CFTC (Commodity Futures Trading Commission), all changes after December 17 are not included in this update. For this reason, we publish daily estimates of changes in the positions of "institutional investors" in our news ticker. However, options are not included in the daily estimates!
