COT report (Commitments of Traders)

Institutional investors increased the SRW wheat net long position from the previous week (19,149 contracts) to 27,270 net long positions in the week to 31.12.19. The investor group of "institutional investors", which includes banks, insurance companies, fund companies, etc., is thus still predominantly bullish on wheat. This is according to the COT report of the US Department of Agriculture, which was published on Tuesday after the close of trading in Chicago.
Net short positions in corn were reduced by 2,121 contracts to 82,456 net short positions.
In addition, "institutional investors" reduced the net short position in soybeans by 29,997 contracts to 3,159 net short positions.
Since the report is always published with a delay of almost a week by the CFTC (Commodity Futures Trading Commission), all changes after December 31 are not included in this update. For this reason, we publish daily estimates of changes in the positions of "institutional investors" in our news ticker. However, options are not included in the daily estimates!
