COT report (Commitments of Traders)

Institutional investors turned the SRW wheat net short holdings from the previous week (5,659 contracts) to 17,670 net long positions in the week ending March 24, 20. The investor group of "institutional investors", which includes banks, insurance companies, fund companies, etc., is again largely bullish in wheat. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's COT report, which was released in Chicago on Friday after the close of trading.
For corn, the portfolio of net short positions was increased by 16,703 contracts to 108,549 net short positions.
In addition, "institutional investors" reduced the net short holdings of soybeans by 28,202 contracts to 2,444 net short positions.
Since the report is always published by the CFTC (Commodity Futures Trading Commission) with a delay of almost a week, all changes after March 24 are not taken into account in this update. For this reason, we publish the estimates of the position changes for "institutional investors" in our news ticker. However, options are not taken into account in the daily estimates!
