COT report (Commitments of Traders)

Institutional investors reduced the SRW wheat net long holdings from the previous week (35,971 contracts) to 26,165 contracts in the week ending April 7, 20. The investor group of "institutional investors", which includes banks, insurance companies, fund companies, etc., remains largely bullish in wheat. This is clear from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's COT report, released on Friday.
For corn, the portfolio of net short positions was increased by 10,070 contracts to 110,402 net short positions.
In addition, "institutional investors" reduced the net long holdings of soybeans by 6,069 contracts to 17,161 net long positions.
Since the report is always published by the CFTC (Commodity Futures Trading Commission) with a delay of almost a week, all changes after April 7th are not taken into account in this update. For this reason, we publish the estimates of the position changes for "institutional investors" in our news ticker. However, options are not taken into account in the daily estimates!
