COT report (Commitments of Traders)

Institutional investors reduced the SRW wheat net short holdings of the previous week (38,812 contracts) to 33,529 contracts in the week ending July 7, 20. The investor group of "institutional investors", which includes banks, insurance companies, fund companies, etc., is therefore still bearishly positioned for wheat. This comes from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's COT report, which was released in Chicago on Friday after the close of trading.
In the corn segment, the net short position portfolio was reduced by 59,907 contracts to 141,741 contracts.
In addition, institutional investors increased soybeans' net long holdings by 31,407 contracts to 99,243 net long positions.
Since the report is always published by the CFTC (Commodity Futures Trading Commission) with a delay of almost a week, all changes after July 7th are not taken into account in this update. For this reason, we publish the estimates of the position changes for "institutional investors" in our news ticker every day. However, options are not taken into account in the daily estimates!
