COT report (Commitments of Traders)

Institutional investors reduced the SRW wheat short net holdings of the previous week (33,529 contracts) to 8,327 contracts in the week ending July 14, 20. The investor group of "institutional investors", which includes banks, insurance companies, fund companies, etc., is therefore still bearishly positioned for wheat. This comes from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's COT report, which was released in Chicago on Friday after the close of trading.
For corn, the portfolio of net short positions was reduced by 8,116 contracts to 133,625 contracts.
In addition, "institutional investors" reduced their soybean net long holdings by 33,268 contracts to 65,975 net long positions.
Since the report is always published by the CFTC (Commodity Futures Trading Commission) with a delay of almost a week, all changes after July 7th are not taken into account in this update. For this reason, we publish the estimates of the position changes for "institutional investors" in our news ticker every day. However, options are not taken into account in the daily estimates!
