The U.S. Department of Agriculture announced yesterday in its weekly report on the state of grain stocks.
According to this, 46% of winter wheat stocks in the state of Kansas are in "good to excellent" condition. That's a 1% drop from the previous week. The excess moisture in the upper soil layers is 18% compared to 7% in the previous week.
For Texas, the state with the second largest winter wheat acreage, the USDA rated 36% of the harvest as "good to excellent", compared to 26% the previous week.
In the state of Texas, maize sowing has been completed on 29% of the areas planned for this (previous week: 28%). The 5-year average is 16%.
For Oklahoma, the USDA rated 67% of winter wheat stocks in "good to excellent health", compared with 58% the previous week.
For Colorado, the USDA rated 46% of winter wheat as "good to excellent," a decrease of 59% in the previous report, which was released in late February.
