Department of Agriculture crop progress report

The U.S. Department of Agriculture announced yesterday evening that U.S. farmers had sown corn on 7% of the proposed area as of April 19. This corresponds to the expectations of the analysts interviewed in advance of 5-12%. In the previous week, the sowing progress was 3%. However, the 5-year average is 9%.
Soybeans have 2% of the space planned in the United States. This is also within the analysts' expectations of 1-3% and above the 5-year average of 1%.
57% of U.S. winter wheat stocks are in top shape in the United States, down 5% from the previous week (62%). Analysts had expected a lower decrease to 61%. The range of expectations was between 59% and 64%.
Summer wheat sowing has only been carried out on 7% of the planned areas (previous week: 5%). Analysts had expected an average of 11%. The range of expectations was between 8% and 18%.
