Egypt extends import permit for wheat with 13.5% moisture

Egypt, one of the most important wheat buyers in the world, has today renewed a license from the previous year to import wheat with up to 13.5% moisture.
By the decision of the Minister of Agriculture in Cairo, the importer hoped for a larger number of suppliers; The scheme has been in force retroactively since 3 July.
Last year, Egypt's wheat imports were largely dominated by Russia. The ability to deliver higher levels of moisture is likely to benefit primarily in France, where wheat tends to be harvested with higher moisture levels.
