Egypt's state-owned grain purchaser GASC launched another international tender last night to purchase an undetermined amount of common wheat. The grain is to be shipped between May 21 and June 5.
The offers are to be submitted today.
In this invitation to tender, GASC guarantees prompt payment as soon as the loading papers are available "on sight". In previous tenders, the payment term was 180 days.
Last week, the responsible supply minister in Egypt said publicly that 800,000 tons of wheat would still be imported while the grain harvest was taking place in the country.
